News Updates
ID cards now available
The MBAA now has the ability to make ID cards for all licensed bail and bail enforcement agents. On the front of the ID card is your picture, type of license you hold, your license number and states that you are licensed through the MS Department of Insurance. On the back of the ID card is your name, bonding company you work with, their address and phone number.
If you would like to purchase an ID card they are available at all continuing education classes, board meetings and general assembly conferences. For a list of those dates visit the Education and Up Coming Meeting pages of the website. The cost for the ID is $15.00 for one or $25.00 for two.
We hope everyone will consider purchasing an ID. They allow for you to be recognized by jails, officers and courts as a licensed agent in Mississippi.
A New “Incentive”
If you attend all three General Assembly Conferences each year, January, July and October, pay a onetime a year registration fee of $60.00 and are a voting member this will count as your continuing education for the next year. For example: you attend the 2008 January, July and October general assembly conferences. You pay the (onetime a year) $60.00 registration and are a voting member you will not have to go to the continuing education class in 2009. By completing all the requirements above you have earned your continuing education credit and will receive a certificate for 2009.
General Membership Conferences
I would like to remind everyone that the MBAA has three General Assembly Conferences a year. These meetings are held in January, July and October. Each of these meetings is held in a different location throughout Mississippi, this allows everyone a chance to take part in at least one meeting. For more information go to the "Upcoming Meeting's" page of the website.
Also, as a reminder, everyone is invited to attend all board meetings of the MS Bail Agents Association. If you have a concern or problem you can contact a board member in your area and ask them you put you on the agenda. Or, you can call me I will be glad to assist you in any way I can.
